News Article: Employees Eligible for Vaccinations from Multiple Providers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Eligible University of Arkansas employees continue to receive COVID-19 vaccinations through opportunities provided by the university as well as from pharmacies and providers throughout the area.
More than 1,000 employees have now received both doses of the vaccine through opportunities provided by the university with hundreds more who have either received at least one dose or are currently scheduled to receive their first dose. Other employees have been able to secure vaccination opportunities on their own.
"Some may not realize that U of A employees can be vaccinated off campus if an opportunity becomes available, so we want to reinforce that all eligible university employees can seek vaccination opportunities from any pharmacy or provider offering the vaccine," said Matt Mills, U of A emergency manager, said. "I'm not sure how many employees have been vaccinated outside of opportunities offered through the university, but anecdotally, it seems the number may be significant."
Mills continues to ask for patience as demand for the vaccine continues to outpace the supply in our area at this time. Reports of increasing supplies and additional providers being added to the mix provides hope moving forward.
Keep the following information in mind when you do secure a vaccination appointment.
WHAT DO I NEED TO TAKE?
Those with appointments to receive the vaccine from eligible providers, including mass vaccination clinics, must bring the following for verification (those without an appointment will be turned away):
- University photo identification
- Insurance card
- Driver's license or other form of photo identification
- The individualized letter from the university recently emailed to employees
- First dose confirmation card (if receiving your second dose). IMPORTANT: If you have lost your card, then you are responsible for contacting the pharmacy/provider directly for a replacement. The university does not have access to this record.
WILL PAT WALKER HEALTH CENTER PROVIDE COVID-19 VACCINATIONS AT SOME POINT?
Pat Walker Health Center has been approved to be a COVID-19 vaccination provider, but at this time no vaccines have been provided to the university to distribute. Eligible employees can check with area pharmacies to see if they are accepting vaccination reservations or take advantage of vaccination opportunities provided by the university by appointment only.
