CAPS Accreditation & Staff

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) offers high-quality clinical, outreach, consultation, training, and research services to the students of the University of Arkansas. CAPS staff includes professionally licensed mental health clinicians, and several half-time and full-time trainees that provide counseling under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.

has an M.S. or Ph.D. in Counseling, and is licensed by the State of Arkansas to provide individual and group counseling, as well as supervision to graduate trainees.
has a Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology, and is licensed by the State of Arkansas to provide individual and group counseling, assessment services, and supervision to graduate trainees.
has an MSW or Ph.D. in social work and is licensed by the State of Arkansas to provide individual and group counseling, as well as supervision.
is working toward a masters or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or social work. Trainees provide individual or group counseling with regular supervision from a licensed senior clinician.

  • CAPS is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).

  • The CAPS Doctoral Internship Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) through 2025, when the commission will come for its next accreditation visit. The CAPS Doctoral Internship Program is also a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC #2481).
